Michael Terkildsen, known as “Terk” or @M.Terk (instagram), has been building coils for 5 years, perfecting his craft for his customers and vape community.  

Chloé (partner) @Mterk.net_ (instagram) and @MTERK_net (twitter) is the designer, social media manager, and general manager for MTERK INC.  

Michael, aka MTERK, comes from humble beginnings, enduring many hardships. Growing up at the Jersey Shore, Michael comes from a hard-working family, with his mother, father, and 3 brothers. His father owns a own business, and naturally, as many families do, the brothers all found themselves working together, immersed in the family business, including Michael (starting from a very young age).

But there are deeper crevasse to the depth's of Terk’s journey. After a foot injury at age 13, Michael was prescribed pain-killers. Needless to say, this was the beginning stages of what would turn into a 10+ year grueling drug addiction, including 8+ years of heroin, and over a 13 year cigarette smoker. 

During these grueling years, Michael continued the hard labor jobs with his family, in tumultuous conditions, barely making ends meet, and fighting the biggest demons of his life. 

Chloé's overcame many hardships, and continues to heal from traumas via abuse & chronic illnesses. She is an artist, martial artist, and musician. Chloé has always been passionate about helping others, harm reduction for all, LGBTQ rights, environmental and animal activist, and an advocate for those with trauma, disabilities, mental illness and addiction. She’s always had a voice for the voiceless. 

Chloé throughly practiced & studied many fields including art, graphic design & advertising, art therapy, health coaching & detoxification, ultrasound, and now working in collaboration with MTERK INC in the vaping industry and advocating. She continuously works behind the scenes, on social media, and also advocating for tobacco harm reduction. 

Michael and Chloé have been best friends since summer 2006 and dating since summer 2012. They have been through everything together. It wasn't until 2014, after years of numerous, difficult, and near death attempts to detox and quit drugs, that Michael finally quit heroin, with Chloé by his side. 

Michael continued to smoke cigarettes and work with his family for a while. But, after years of doing steel construction, fabrication, HVAC, and enduring toxic work conditions, he took another leap of faith: he dove into the unknown. Terk found himself in the vaping community and he went straight into self-taught coil building short after. This was no overnight feat. Rome was not built in a day. Michael started vaping end of 2014, and was cigarette free by January 2015! 

At first, Terk still worked his 60+ hour weeks, doing manual labor with family, and would come home at night and practice building. He would work his days off at the vape shop VVVapes in Belmar, NJ. 

Gradually he took that last step; he started full time at VVVapes so that he could pursue coil building. Unknowingly, over the course of 2015, Mike's talent and passionate drive grew a name; M.Terk. Chloe opened/designed/branded the business. Teaching, traveling, content creating, mass producing coils, Terk’s world drastically changed, for the better!

By 2016, MTERK LLC was in full effect. Michael has been a pioneer and a major influencer in the vape community. He set the tone for mass coil production and distribution, including wholesale, for the industry, and has been a major inspiration to many. 

Over the last few years, Michael not only rapidly grew into a great success, but has expanded MTERK LLC & MTERK INC globally, branching out beyond mass coil production and distribution, to creating e-liquid, hardware, apparel, and more, all while remaining humble. 

Chloé continues social media management, packaging/branding, design, and more behind the scenes, while they both work tirelessly on vaping advocacy. 

Motivation, dedication, grind, and hustle: that's truly Terk’s motto and way of life. DETERMINED! His goals are to share this passion and help others, and that's exactly what he continues to do. 

MTerk travels both domestically and internationally to vape conventions both to sell his products and build his coils. Check out his youtube channel for build tutorials.
